M/Y Vibrant Curiosity Donates IGY Marinas Anchor Club Points to Yachtaid Global

M/Y Vibrant Curiosity, the 280’ beauty built by Oceanco, has graciously donated their 42,033 accumulated points to yachting’s humanitarian charity, YachtAid Global.

2 December 2013, San Diego, California USA: As a member of the IGY Anchor Club Loyalty Program created by IGY Marinas, Vibrant Curiosity has been racking up points since January 2012 while docking at an IGY owned marina. IGY Anchor Club members earn points for simply docking at an IGY marina, the 42k+ points equating to approximately 40 nights of dockage.

"We discussed what we should do with the accumulated points and Captain Jeff, my reliever, suggested we donate them to charity," states Captain Mats Bengtsson, one of the rotational Captains aboard M/Y Vibrant Curiosity. The owner concurred.

This is not the first time M/Y Vibrant Curiosity has donated to YachtAid Global. When it came time to pay the agent services bill for lining up tours and other details at North Island Marina at Port McNeil, British Colombia, marina owner Steve Jackman suggested the fee be donated to YachtAid Global. Steve Jackman is a huge supporter of the charity and was even on hand at the Admiral Technomar USA Launch event held at Chima restaurant during FLIBS 2013, where YAG was a partner in coordination with Lucid Yachts.

YAG Founder Mark Drewelow introduced the yacht to YachtAid Global when they became a client of Drewelow’s Superyacht Port Agency, C2C, Inc. in April 2013 due to their extensive cruising schedule. "Vibrant Curiosity is a great client of C2C and is a perfect fit for the YachtAid Global program. YachtAid Global is proud to be associated with IGY’s Anchor Club program and we look forward to working more closely with the plethora of IGY international marinas in the future," states Drewelow.

14 November 2013, Chicago, Illinois, USA: The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) today announces the creation of Superyacht Lifestyle Miami (SLM), an experiential exhibit of some of the world’s most beautiful yachts and luxury products. "NMMA’s goal with Superyacht Lifestyle Miami is to answer direct requests from NMMA members and the global superyacht industry to use our considerable exhibition and marketing capabilities to create this new kind of experience for the UHNWI and HNWI customer," says NMMA President, Thom Dammrich. "We believe this event is an important step forward for the superyacht industry’s expansion to corresponding luxury sector cross-promotion and a new level of aspiration by the industry."

Geared toward an elite international clientele, NMMA is working in concert with a superyacht industry focus group of executive leadership as well as organizations like the International Superyacht Society (ISS), the U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA) and Ports of Cause (POC) to build a breakthrough event—one which bridges luxury categories and concierge services to create a memorable experience for an exacting audience. Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will be held from 13-16 February 2014 at the Museum Park’s Deep Water Basin on the shores of the City of Miami.

Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will include yachts over 100’ (30m+), including new builds, brokerage and charter vessels with availability for select supplier exhibits. With 40’-50’ (9.14m-12.19m) deep water draft and clear air draft to and from the Basin, SLM provides ample logistical availability for premier sailing yachts as well as motoryachts.

To showcase complementary luxury products, NMMA has commissioned SEAFAIR, the 228’ (69.49m) Luiz De Basto-designed International Fine Art Exposition (IFAE) yacht; SEAFAIR also provides fine dining, an open-air restaurant and bar, and related support to the event.

Entertainment and concierge services are also underway. Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will provide elite access to local attractions while helicopter service and limousine transport will be made available for private aviation needs and ferrying between other aspects of the February Miami shows.

NMMA’s large yacht involvement also includes global regulations, policy practices of international governance from ICOMIA and IMO as well as ISO standards that impacts its members. As the leading advocate and association for the North American recreational boating industry, NMMA is also looking to strengthen its strategic and marketing relationships for the benefit of its export-driven manufacturing members and those who work within, or seek to work within, the superyacht segment.

A working member of the superyacht industry’s Superyacht Associations Alliance (SAA), NMMA has already established its collaborative spirit with the superyacht industry’s international organizations through attendance at SAA’s last three meetings and plans to again host the SAA Breakfast at the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show in February 2014.

A young, aggressive brokerage group is pioneering an HD video channel highlighting some of the most popular crewed motor yacht brands in the world today.

The Free HD offer to owners of luxury motor yachts between 70 and 140 feet in length is arguably one of the most exciting and unique industry marketing campaigns launched in recent years, especially as buyers and sellers gear up for the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This is the largest "for sale" Power –motor catamaran and sailboat selling arena in the world.

"Using superb editing and post production techniques, our videographers are creating some of the most compelling power boat footage seen on the web. U.S. owners are excited to have our team showcase their yacht for friends, family and co-workers," said Mike Carlson. "In addition, the HD video offers mega power yacht owners an excellent way to increase resale value when the time comes to sell."

The special offer illustrates the extensive strategic renovations to 26 North Yachts' internet marketing channels, which now features one of the most informed and sophisticated motoryacht-related news channels in the industry. The seasoned marketing team led by owners Mike Carlson and Nicholas Scherb will use the HD motor yacht footage to complement a growing arsenal of high-quality content aimed at general luxury power yacht enthusiasts around the world.

"We continue to see ourselves as a disruptive marketing force in the luxury motor yacht sales sector, and this free promotion is just the beginning of the powerful selling platform we intend to build over the next several years," said Nicholas Scherb, co-owner, 26 North Yachts.

The video is free to owners residing in the United States, particularly those who have purchased any of the following brands: Horizon Yachts, Pacific Mariner Yachts, Ocean Alexander Yachts, Cheoy Lee Yachts, Benetti Yachts, Outer Reef Yachts, Hargrave Yachts, Marlow Yachts and Hatteras Yachts.

"Nicholas and I often get asked by owners how and why we dare do this and the answer is simple: We love to showcase beautiful yachts to our international visitorship and highlight key construction, design and sailing features that may interest buyers looking for a similar boat. There is no catch - we simply see value where others don't," added Carlson.
